Our goals

AFR's goals are promotion and improvement of the breed in France.

- Promotion since, on the contrary to what happened in other countries, the Ragdoll is still rather confidential in France and not so well-known by the public as well as a good part of the feline world. In order to reach that goal, AFR wishes to organize Ragdoll Specials. By taking part in shows (which breeder had not heard a 100 times at every cat show « you are so few », « we never see Ragdolls », « what are the differences with the Sacred of Birma ? » ), we will make the Ragdoll more popular, people interested will get to know it and exercise their eye, and we will harmonize the Ragdoll's appearance in France.

- Improvement , because it is any breeder's goal, moreover concerning a rather new and confidential breed in France. On that matter, AFR would like to be a help for breeders, so that we work together for the constant improvement of the breed and its well-being. Whereas, since the Ragdoll is not so present at shows, he lacks comparison for us, for the public and the judges, and lacks the mixing that other breeds that arrived in France at about the same period have. Hence, a certain disparity of type from one Ragdoll to another.


AFR is open to all Ragdoll lovers - amateurs or breeders - and offers information and communication to those interested :

- General information and advice (health, care, administration) but also more specific to the Ragdoll (genetics, show calendar and results in France and abroad, Ragdoll special shows, seminars and congresses...)

- But also, of course, a list of breeders and their cattery, the litters, studs, the official documents to load, pictures to update, links towards our partners and colleagues abroad...
